Born
in Lafayette, Louisiana, Benny has been on the move for most of his life. He has lived in
Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Tulsa, Houston, Santa Fe, San Antonio, the Dallas/Fort
Worth metroplex
and is now living in the Los Feliz section of Los Angeles.
He received
his B.F.A. in Music Theatre from the College of Santa Fe in May 2008,
where
he starred in many Greer Garson Theatre productions and student films.
He
was also a
regular performer at Vanessie's and other Santa Fe piano bars,
performed in commercials
and did voice-over
work.
Briseno recently appeared in Much Ado
About Nothing where he tackled the role of Benedick and
as Marc Antony in
Julius Caesar for the
Long Beach
Shakespeare Company. He is also a
company
member of The Berubians Theatre Company and
appeared in The Dark Side of the Moon.
Prior to his LA move, he performed the title role in
Rancho
Pancho, a new play by Gregg Barrios
which
chronicles the short-lived, but intense,
relationship between playwright Tennessee Williams
and south Texan Pancho
Rodriguez.
The show debuted in San Antonio before traveling to
Provincetown
Massachusetts
for the Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival,
September 25th through 28th, 2008.
Benny also performed with the
Santa Fe Opera
as Vittorio in their
One Hour Opera community performance of
I Due Timidi (The Timid
Twosome).
